Intramuros celebrates Chinese New Year
Last February 10, the Chinese-Filipinos ushered in the Year of the Water Snake with big festivities.
To celebrate the Chinese New Year, an exhibit was held at the Bahay Tsinoy (Chinese-Filipino House) museum in Intramuros, Manila to show the influence and role played by the Chinese in the country’s development.
The exhibit showcased three-dimensional dioramas and a vast collection of photos. It focused on how Filipinos and Chinese are linked through culture, politics, business and entertainment, among others.

- José Rizal - Filipino national hero
- Alfonso Yuchengco - a prominent industrialist
- Francis Kong – inspirational and motivational speaker
- Jaime Cardinal Sin - 30th Roman Catholic Archbishop of Manila
- Ang Kiukok - National Artist for Visual Arts
- Emilio Aguinaldo - first president of the Philippines
- Tomas Pinpin - known as the "Prince of Filipino Printers"
- Sergio Osmeña - third President of the Philippines
- Corazon Cojuangco-Aquino - first woman president of the Philippines
- Jose Mari Chan - singer and songwriter
