WELCOME TO MAPÚA UNIVERSITY LIBRARY!
While the library mainly caters to Mapúa University community, we make our resources available to as many qualified researchers as possible. Here’s what you need to know about visiting and accessing library resources.
Visiting in person
- Paying visitors: the library accommodates outside researchers up to a maximum of five persons at one time. The schedule of outside researchers is every Friday and Saturday, 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Requirements and fees are as follows:
- Alumni – a valid National Association of Mapúa Alumni, Inc. (NAMA) identification card is required. A minimal fee of Php75.00 per quarter term as payment for the access and use of the library.
- Students – for student researchers, a school ID and a referral letter signed by the Chief Librarian are required to be presented to the guards upon entry into the university. The letter should contain actual the date of the visit and the names of all researchers. A fee of Php50 per day is collected.
- Non-paying visitors: the library is open to member schools of the following consortium and network that the library is part of. A school ID and a referral letter signed by the Chief Librarian are required to be presented to the guards upon entry into the university.
- Intramuros Library Consortium (ILC) – students, faculty, and staff of the following member libraries: Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) Manila, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (PLM), Colegio de San Juan de Letran, City College of Manila (CCM), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), and FEATI University.
- Mapúa Schools – students, faculty, and staff of the following Yuchengco Group of Companies (YGC) schools: Malayan High School of Science (MHSS), Malayan Colleges Laguna (MCL), and Malayan Colleges Mindanao (MCM).
Access and use of visiting users
- Plan your visit. Contact the library at [email protected] if the materials you need are available.
- All library materials are for room use only.
- Visiting users are not allowed to use the discussion rooms and Multimedia section.
- Due to COVID restrictions, the library is limiting outside researchers. Contact the library first before visiting.
Using Special Collections
Special Collections and archives can only be used/viewed inside the library. Materials are not for loan. Collections included here are the FVR Collection and the Lope K Santos Collection. These materials are open to all by appointment. Contact the library at [email protected] before visiting onsite.
Online Access
- Remote Access: Library resources are accessible remotely to active Mapúa University students, faculty, and staff. Remote access credentials are the mymail or Mapúa email address and student/employee/faculty number. Contact [email protected] or Chat with a Librarian for remote access problems.
- Resource sharing (ReSha) service with Mapúa schools is also available. The service is open every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday of the week. For online thesis and article requests, contact the following:
- Consortium of Engineering Libraries - Philippines (CELPh): as a member of the consortium, subscription to the Wiley Online Library database is accessible to the following member schools:
Ateneo de Manila University, Central Luzon State University, De La Salle University, FEATI University, Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology, Technological Institute of the Philippines (Quezon City), Technological Institute of the Philippines (Manila), UP Diliman College of Engineering Library, UP Los Baños, University of San Carlos, University of Sto. Tomas (Miguel de Benavides Library), and Xavier University (Ateneo de Cagayan).
