How to access Turnitin (Students)?

Turnitin is now integrated on Blackboard.

Currently enrolled students may get in touch with their respective professors for complete instructions on how to access TurnItin via Blackboard.

If your academic status is "for completion" or "residency" kindly email the library ([email protected]) to assist you further.

How to set up Turnitin on Blackboard (Faculty)?

  1. Choose the COURSE that you wish to set up Turnitin and click on it.
  2. At the left side of your page. Choose any of your created content where you want your student to send their papers for similarity checking.
  3. Once it is open, click on the BUILT Content page and choose TURNITIN.
  4. Fill out the necessary information on the GENERAL SETTINGS to set up Turnitin for this assignment. Once done, click on the CREATE ASSIGNMENT button.
  5. Refresh the page to see the created assignment. You may find it at the end of the page.
  6. Click on the created assignment and update the SIMILARITY SETTING.
    PLEASE REMEMBER that you need to "turnoff" the Index Submitted Works, if you don't want your paper to be submitted to Turnitin repositories.
  7. Click on the SAVE SETTINGS once you're done.
  8. Your students may now upload their papers on Turnitin for this particular assignment.

How to Return Borrowed Books(s) During Online Classes

During online classes, students can still return borrowed books via COURIER or DROP-OFF AT THE SECURITY OFFICE.

  • Accomplish the Book Returns Form and wait for a response from a Librarian.
  • A Librarian will respond to confirm the target schedule
  • Schedule delivery/drop-off between 10am to 12nn and 2pm to 4pm, Mondays to Fridays except holidays
  • Ensure that the item is addressed to the Library Department

How to Schedule an Online Training Session (Book-a-Librarian)

The Library offers online training sessions on the different research tools and resources. To schedule a session:

  • Go to https://bit.ly/MapuaLibBook-A-Librarian
  • Select a Staff or a Date and Time


  • Select Continue, you will be prompted on the Your Details form. Fill-in the form and Confirm Appointment


  • The Librarian assigned on your selected schedule will send you an e-mail confirming your scheduled training

How to Request for a Book Scanning Service?

During online classes, library users can still access printed books through the book scanning services, here’s how:

  • Check book titles from Mapua Library One Search (https://bit.ly/MapuaLibraryOneSearch)
  • Copy the Title, Author, Copyright Year and Location of the book, and send to [email protected] or [email protected].
  • A Librarian will respond to you, if the specific title is available, a copy of the Table of the Contents will be emailed, otherwise, an alternative title will be recommended, and the Table of Contents will be sent as well.
  • Select and send the specific chapter for scanning request.
  • Once the book chapter is scanned, access link will be sent through your myMapua email.

How to Request Remote Access to Electronic Feasibility or Graduate Theses

Steps on how to access remotely:

  1. Go to library.mapua.edu.ph. Key in your search topic at the “Mapua Library One Search” tab.
  2. To sort the e-feasibility studies and e-graduate thesis, select the following filters found at the left portion of the site:
    • Availability: Available in the Library
    • Resource Type: Dissertations and/or Feasibilities
  3. Click apply filter. Select the item titles* along with the access code/call number
    • Title: Stratigraphic Relationship of the Sansotero Limestone to the Moriones Formation in Brgy. Santosero, Sta. Ignacia, Tarlac
    • Access code: FS8595

  5. Do not forget to use your official myMapua email address when sending your request.

You may only request remote access on titles if they have a “ONLINE ACCESS” remarks in the bibliographic record.

HOW TO access online databases remotely

Steps on how to access remotely:

  • Go to our library webpage http://library.mapua.edu.ph
  • Choose which electronic resources you want to have access to [eBooks or eJournals] then click on the link of the database.
  • You will be prompted to answer the following information.
    Username: student ID/employee ID;
    Password: last four digits of the ID
  • You may now view all full-text content to which the Library subscribes.

How to Check-out Books Using the Self-Service Station

  1. Bring the book to the self-service station (located at the General Circulation).
  2. Scan your Mapua ID at the Card Sensor Slot.
  3. Place the book on the cradle.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  5. Collect your book and your receipt.

How to Renew an Item Online

  1. Go to: http://ls.mapua.edu.ph/.
  2. Click My Account from the PAC toolbar. Key in your Patron ID Number and PIN.
  3. Click Current Loans. It will displays all the title(s) that you have check-out
    Note: Current titles with a red Due Date indicate items are overdue. Please return it to the library.
  4. Select the title (s) you want to renew then tick the box on the left side of the title. This will enable the Renew button on the toolbar.
  5. Click Renew.

How to Borrow Non-Book Materials

Use our Online Public Access Catalog (OPAC) to check the availability of the item and get the call number, locate the material on the shelves or ask the assistance of the library staff to locate and check out the material.

How to Use eBooks

There are two ways to access our eBooks:

  1. Visit the library website https://library.mapua.edu.ph/Default.aspx , you will find “eBooks” on the right side of the page. Choose among the icon of the database that you wish to check then type in your search and choose from among the results.
  2. Use our Online Public Access to Catalog (OPAC) and type in your search then choose the title of the eBook and click on it. A link will appear where you can access the full text of the eBook.

How to Use the LibChat Service (Chat with a Librarian)

  1. Go to Mapua Library Homepage and look for the chat box at the right side of the screen. The box displays whether the librarian is online or offline. If the librarian is ONLINE, type your name and email followed by your questions.
  2. If the live chat service is offline, please call (02) 247-5000 loc. 4201-4202 to speak to a librarian or send your queries to [email protected].

How to request for TurnItin account?

You may email your request to [email protected] or contact us to any of our social media sites on FB, Twitter and Instagram. You may also, come and visit the Multimedia section to request for your account.

How to reserve Laptop and iPads online?

Aside from securing your reservation via our Lending Desks, you can also place same day reservation for Laptops and iPads online. Here’s how.

  1. Go to: http://ls.mapua.edu.ph/
  2. Click Search and type in the following keywords to initiate Hold Request for a particular device:
    • Dell laptop
    • Lenovo laptop
    • iPad Air
    Please note that prior reservations are not allowed. Only same-day reservations will be accommodated.
  3. Click Hold Request and enter your account login information. Please be reminded of the date indicated in hold requests as it expires automatically after 3 days.
  4. A notification that you have successfully reserved the item will appear.

  5. Reminders:
    Do take note of your reservation details, the Date and pick-up point of electronic device.

Having difficulty getting full-text access to an article? How to request it online?

  1. Send us an email at [email protected]
  2. Indicate “Journal Article Requests” on the subject line of your email
  3. Submit your Full Name and Student Number together with the following journal information:
    • Title of the Article
    • Journal Title
    • Volume, Issue Number and Year of Publication
    • DOI (digital object identifier) and or the URL of needed article
      Example:
      DOI
      *A digital object identifier (DOI) is a unique alphanumeric string assigned to identify content and provide persistent link to its location on the Internet. For electronic journals, DOI is usually located on the landing page of the journal article.
  4. Notification will be sent to your myMapua accounts or alternate email addresses once request has been processed.
